Honey is healing
I grew up with honey. My mother was adamant that a squeeze onto toast, fruit, or directly in the mouth was the solution for a sore throat, fatigue, or inability to fall asleep. She used raw honey religiously, always declaring it as nature’s most nutritious food.
I don’t recall if my mother knew this, however, raw honey’s medicinal usage has been praised since the age of ancient Egyptians. They believed it to be sacred, spiritual, and necessary to preserve and prepare the bodies of Pharaohs and Kings for their journey to the afterlife.
My mother’s usage resembled more that of the common man: as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial agent.
Honey is a mix of sugar, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, iron, zinc, and antioxidants.
There are 320 different varieties of honey. The sweet, flowy fluid made by honeybees using the nectar of flowering plants differs in color, odor, and flavor depending on the ecosystem it's cultivated in.
My mother, the ancient Egyptians, and all of us can use honey to:
1. Nourish the body and mind
Raw honey is filled with amino acids and enzymes. A one tablespoon contains 64 calories, 17 grams of real sugar, and 9+ vitamins and minerals, including: calcium, magnesium, potassium, riboflavin, and zinc.
Thus, a spoonful is a dose of real, nutritious food that benefits the body and mind by improving energy levels, reducing inflammation, and strengthening the immune system.
2. Improve digestion
As a potent prebiotic, honey nourishes the good bacteria in the intestines, improving digestion and well-being by creating a healthy mind and gut connection.
3. Strengthen Immunity
Raw honey is filled with phytonutrients, compounds found in plants that protect from harm and when consumed by you and I they become antibacterial, preventing illness and strengthening the body's natural immune response.
4. Reduce stress and anxiety
This one is a bit new, as we use honey as a medicinal carrier to deliver stress-reducing adaptogens. mycro raw honey reduces stress and anxiety by improving base operations within the body and mind, promoting homeostasis at the cellular level and harmonizing the body, mind, and spirit.
5. Reduce inflammation
This one we just helped improve! Prior to combining our raw honey with a gentle activation of cacao, 5+ potent medicinal mushrooms, and 8+ stress-reducing adaptogens, it still possesses the ability to reduce inflammation naturally by soothing the bodily systems responsible for digestion and hormonal balance.
